Today we are going to just work on three small things.
1.) First, the notes you took on John Adams yesterday, pull them back out. Look through the book again that you read. Find anything you found interesting and make a note of it in your History notebook. Then go online and read about him. Take notes of any good information you find about him, and remember to write down the website you use. Tomorrow you will be writing a "story", or "essay" that I will read. You will be telling me all about him, so act like I know nothing. I can't wait to hear what you have to say! Work on this until lunch time (12 PM/noon).
2.) Go to the CK-12 website and log in using the unsername and password I gave you the other day. Find Rebecca's 6th Grade Math Class. I want you to work on this the rest of the day. Watch the videos, and work the problems when given. If the video just won't load, that is ok. If you have any problems or just don't understand, there is a question area where you can ask. I can also help you. Please let me know!
3.) Please look up the following:
Predicates
Complete Predicates
Complete Subjects
Simple Subjects
Verbs
Adverbs
Adjectives
Nouns
Pronouns
Please give a definition of each and work the following worksheets:
Review Nouns worksheet
Plural Nouns worksheet
Fragments or Sentences
Adverbs worksheet
Punctuation worksheet
I have all of these already pulled up for you.
I know you will study hard and have lots of information to share with me!

December 12, 2018
1.) Go to the Home School folder, go into the spelling section. Do Week 3 "Fill in the Blank".
2.) Review your notes and work from Monday and Tuesday. Do you see anything that you think you are having trouble with?
I think you are doing great so far!
Take some time today to go over everything you have learned in language (English) and Science.
In Life Science you are studying Cells and Heredity, but so far have only been getting an "Introductory to Life Science", while in Language /English you are Learning about "The Sentence: Subject and Predicate, Kinds of Sentences". In U.S. History you have started reading about John Adams. And you are working on your spelling. Can you tell me about what you've learned so far about these things? Take some time and grab a few sheets of loose leaf paper. On the first sheet, write down anything you can remember that you leaned, then write down anything that you would like to learn more about. On the second sheet, write down anything you don't think you understand. We can review these this afternoon, together.
3.) Today there won't be as much stuff to do as yesterday. After reviewing all of your notes and studying the pages you have read this week, please finish reading the book "John Adams: A Life From Beginning to End" on the Kindle. When you are through, research online about him. Take notes and write down where you find the information. Tell me about things that you find. Who was he? Why is he considered important? What are some important facts about his life? Pretend that I know nothing about John Adams and this is my first time ever hearing about him. What would you tell me? Below are some questions to ask, and things to find out:
What year was he born and when did he die?
Who was his Vice President?
What years was he President and what number was he (4th, 7th, etc.)?
What is the name of his some that was also President?
What are some other things John Adams is famous for (other than being President)?
Did he help getting together the Declaration of Independence? How?
What did he nominate George Washington for?
What did he think about slavery?
These are just some suggestions on the information you can find out. You can tell me about all of them, some of them, even find out other things you find interesting. You can write it however you want, but pretend you are going to be telling all of this to someone, so you'll need to have some order. Take your notes, then write it out.
Here is a good place to start for research: John Adams
Now find other places to research and be sure to remember write down where you found your information. Hint: you could probably look at the White House official website! Not all of this is due today, just read the John Adams book on the Kindle.
Keep yourself busy, you can look on many sites, take notes and write down where you find your information.
When you have read the entire story (remember, it is short), you can go back to the CK-12 website and continue working in the "Whole Numbers" section. Please write down any problems in your Math notebook.

I know some of the exercises seem hard. You can get help by looking up online or looking in the back of your language book in the "Quick Reference Handbook". Please write down answers in your English notebook as well. You can use your notebook to help remember what you've learned!
Please tell me what the following are (write them in your notebook and explain): sentence fragments, predicates, simple subjects, compound subjects, complete predicates, and Verbs.
3.) Go to the website CK-12.org and go into your account (I have written down your email and password in your assignment notebook). I have created classes for you. Please begin with Rebecca's 6th grade math class, "Whole Numbers". Go through the sections. Write down questions and answers, show your work. Watch any videos and do the assessments- write them in your Math notebook. You do not have to finish the entire section today, this will take a while.
5.) Go to the Home Schooling folder, into the spelling section. Find Week 3 of 6th grade spelling. Write all words 3 times, and each practice sentence once. Look up the definition of each word and write them down.

Subject and Predicate Worksheets
Sunday, December 9, 2018
December 10, 2018
1.) Read section 2 of Life Science, pages 14-18. Answer the Key Concepts on p. 14, write down the Key Terms on p. 14 and answer what they are. Write the Concepts and Terms in your Science notebook. Answer questions 1,2 and 3 on p. 18. Write down anything interesting you come across while reading and research it further.
2.) In Elements of Language, read pages 1-3, "Do Animals Think?", and answer questions 1-10 on pages 4-5 in your English notebook. Then read pages 5-7, "Critter Crew", and answer questions 11-20 in your English journal..
3.) In Elements of Language, read pages 48-58. Do the exercises 1-9 in the book as you come to them. Write them in your English notebook. If you need help, or don't understand anything, you can look up help online, or we can review it together in the evening. Stop reading on page 58 at the end of exercise 9. Take notes. Re-read anything you do not understand the first time. This will help you remember what you have learned.
4.) On the Kindle, read the book called "John Adams: A Life from beginning to end". It is short and only takes about an hour to read. If you come across any interesting facts, you can write them down in your History notebook.
Please take your time reading and studying. Do one assignment at a time. It is OK if you get stuck, but keep at it! If you have any time left over, you can pull sheets of math from the math worksheets folder (but be sure to write out your answers!).
YOU CAN DO IT, SMART GIRL!
